Bookmen Publishers is an independent, Australian-owned book publisher located in Brisbane, specialising in history and heritage books for schools, regions, towns and special events as they celebrate their special time in history.

We handle all stages of book production, from concept development to the final product. We undertake the research and writing, editing, drafting of text, design and typesetting. All printing and binding is done in Brisbane by professional companies who have been exclusively involved with Bookmen over the past 14 years.

Our books become Limited Edition highly prized ‘collector’s items’ for our clients, and provide a substantial positive financial return for our school participants.

We have relieved the stress, strain, ups and downs, panic and concerns associated with the production and publication of a quality historic book to be available on a school’s proposed Anniversary Reunion Day.

At Bookmen we attend to all aspects from taking raw data and turning it into a brilliant and highly treasured and prized publication.

Bookmen Publishers Will:

• Take all your Year Books & Annual Reports to read, analyse and create the chronological data.


• Process the Qld State Archive c/d acquired by the school, to gather all enrolments from the archive system.


• Analyse all reports, news cuttings & product collected by your committee for inclusion on chronological pages. (These items to be sorted in chronological order or decade folders).


• Contact the VIP's for ‘Forward Messages’ as desired by the committee


• Create a superb collectable history book. (list of published client product available)

Your School Celebratory Committee Will:

• Source the enrolment data, and school historic information from the Qld State Archives (minimal if any $ costs apply to schools) in the cd format available from QSA (contact directions provided to Principals).


• Locate/process and email the photographic components as per the guide provided by Bookmen Publishing.


• Form a proofing group to proof the book (progressive stages) and then ‘sign off’ on the final proof edition.

The exercise requires a financial undertaking by the school, in accordance with the established schedule, but in all cases the final outcome for schools involved with Bookmen Publishers has been pride in the product and a substantial financial return to the school.

Bookmen Publisher’s experience will provide your celebratory committee, P&C etc. with the expertise to make the book the highlight of your celebrations.

If approached properly and if commenced early in the year your end users will be rewarded with a brilliant collectable book that will be treasured for generations to come.

Bookmen Publishers has proven publication programmes catering to scheduled reunion dates. The schedules, inclusive marketing approaches for additional school revenue, and school based requirements, will provide an outcome your committee will be proud to be associated with.
